charityfashionshow.org(SM) a service mark of WHOmentors.com, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, offers talented emerging designers an opportunity to showcase their collections in a professionally produced environment called The Walking Exhibition(SM).
THERE IS NO SERVICE FEE* for emerging designers to present an original brand collection to potential clients, retail fashion store/boutiques owners, buyers, general managers, potential investors, trade organizations, editors, bloggers, public, media and press.
*(CA Labor Code 1702.4.(2)) but voluntary contributions are requested. We do not sell tickets to events and buyers and celebrities will not be asked to buy them.
charityfashioshow.org(SM) and The Walking Exhibition(SM) provide for:
Venue, Staging and Lighting
Hair and make-up
Up to 25 garments
Up to 25 models
Invitation to the media
Press Releases
Inclusion on event website with bio and link to designer web page
Designer feature in online digital media publications
Photos (High Resolution) of collection on disk
Edited HD-Pro video of designer’s show on DVD and digital web formats
Video Commercial of designer’s participation in the show including designer’s interview
Designers are invited to submit original designs for inclusion at a judged event that have not appeared at any other fashion show, in print, online or in any media broadcast.
All works must be wearable objects to be modeled on a legitimate runway, and must exhibit unique, innovative, inspirational and creative artistry.
Novice models for The Walking Exhibition will be provided by charityfashionshow.org. Any designer‐preferred models must be approved in advance. This also includes hair, makeup and music.
There are no age restrictions or required experience for selection to The Walking Exhibition: (both individual designers and design duos accepted; those under 18 will need parental/guardian permission to apply).
Designers are permitted to work with a seamstress. For the purpose of The Walking Exhibition, "Emerging Designer" is defined as anyone who has not been employed full time as a designer for more than two years and has never earned more than $50,000 in a single year as a fashion industry professional. Emerging designers from outside the San Francisco Bay Area are welcome to showcase at The Walking Exhibition.
All clothing items for each look must be original creations with the exception being shoes, undergarments, or hosiery.
All submissions must include a bio of the emerging designer, maximum 100 words, that may be used in advertising and promotional materials, including the official website.
Bios must be sent by email either as part of the body of the email or as attachment in Microsoft word format so they can be cut and pasted into web promotions and program documents.
Emerging designers must also include a brief description of the looks they intend to present at The Walking Exhibition and sketches.
